- Identity documents. Such as your driver license, passport, and citizenship status.
- Flight and training records. Your bookings, flight history, pilot certificate and medical information, and signed agreements.
- Payment and invoice records. Your invoices and payments.
- Application materials. What you send when you apply for a job.

Why we collect it
We use this information to run the waitlist, review applications, create and verify accounts, send agreements, schedule and teach flights, bill for them, and keep our sites secure. We ask for your citizenship status and a passport so we can keep the identity and citizenship records that federal flight training security rules require. California law treats these items as sensitive personal information. We use them for that purpose only and do not use them to profile you.
Our sites do not respond to Do Not Track signals. How we respond to Global Privacy Control is described under Opt out of sharing. We use analytics and advertising services from third parties, including Google and Meta, to measure how our sites are used and to show and measure ads. These services may use cookies or similar technologies to collect technical data such as your IP address, device information, and pages you visit, and may follow your activity across websites. Their privacy policies explain how they use this data. You can manage ads in Google Ads Settings and Meta's ad preferences. Advertising partners may receive technical data and online activity to measure ads and show ads to people who visited our sites. We never use your driver license, passport, citizenship status, or medical information for advertising.
We send news and offers by email. To unsubscribe from our marketing emails, reply to any of them or email [email protected] with the subject Unsubscribe, and we remove you within 10 business days. We send marketing texts only if you agree to receive them, and you can reply STOP to any text. We do not share your phone number or text opt-in with third parties for their marketing.
We use photos or video of you in our marketing only with your written permission, or a parent or guardian's permission if you are under 18.
Who receives it
We share personal information with service providers that process it for us: providers of scheduling and records, electronic signatures, payment processing, email, website hosting, cloud storage, analytics, and advertising. They may store information outside California. Our staff also use software tools, including AI assistants, to help run the school. Our insurance providers, accountants, and legal advisers receive the information they need to do their work for us. Your information may move to a buyer if the company is sold or merges, including student records.
We may share information to follow the law, including federal flight training security rules, answer legal requests, or protect people and property. For students who are not U.S. citizens, federal rules require us to send identity and training information to the Transportation Security Administration.
We sell or share technical data and online activity with analytics and advertising providers. We do not sell or share your driver license, passport, citizenship status, medical information, or phone number. A payment processor handles card payments, and we never see or store full card numbers.
How long we keep it
We keep each kind of record for a set time. Waitlist signups: until you ask us to remove you, or 24 months after our last contact. Job applications: 4 years. Student records, flight records, and invoices: 7 years after your last activity. Passport files: 5 years after your training ends. Driver license files: 5 years after your training ends. Medical and pilot certificate information, agreements, and messages you send us: 7 years after your last activity. Analytics and advertising data: 14 months at the provider. Unverified signups: 24 hours. Signup details: 30 days after you verify your email. A parent or guardian's phone number: one year. Technical data that we use to block abuse: no more than 24 hours. When a record passes its time, we delete it from our systems and ask our service providers to do the same.
California privacy rights
California law gives residents the rights below, and we honor them for everyone who contacts us from California. You can ask what personal information we hold about you, where it came from, why we use it, and who receives it. You can ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it, subject to records the law requires us to keep. You can also ask us to limit how we use your sensitive personal information, and opt out of the sharing of your personal information for advertising. Beach Cities follows these rights voluntarily, whether or not the California Consumer Privacy Act thresholds apply to us. We sell or share technical data and online activity with analytics and advertising providers. We do not sell or share your driver license, passport, citizenship status, medical information, or phone number. To opt out, see Opt out of sharing. We do not use sensitive personal information beyond the purposes above. We do not give your contact details or records to third parties for their own direct marketing. We treat you the same whether or not you make a request.
To make a request, email [email protected] with the subject "Privacy request", or write to us at the address above. We confirm we received it within 10 business days, match your details to what we have on file, and reply within 45 days. If we need up to 45 more days, we tell you why. An authorized agent can send a request for you with your written permission.
Opt out of sharing
We share technical data and online activity with analytics and advertising providers. You can opt out in either of these ways.
Turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser or device. Our sites treat that signal as your opt-out and stop loading our analytics and advertising tags for that browser or device. This happens automatically, with no banner or extra step.
You can also email [email protected] with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information". We act on your request within 15 business days.
Opting out does not change how we use your information to schedule, teach, and bill for flying.
